I HAVE THE FLOW 80 WITH 2 1/2 EXHAUST PIPE AND CUSTOM TIPS. THE SOUND IS A LITTLE LOUDER THAN NORMAL STOCK STUFF BUT NOT EARTH SHATTERING. MY NEXT CHANGE IS THE CAT. MY QUESTION IS IF A CAT IS GUTTED WILL IT PASS EMMISIONS IN ILLINOIS OR DO I GET THE HIGH LOW CAT? WILL THE GUTTED CAT OR HIGH LOW CAT GIVE ME THE SOUND MY CAR DESERVES?

I don't know about Ill., but, in CT, it is probably no longer possible to pass the NOx test with a gutted cat. The levels of N0x emissions would be too high as this is one of the gases the cat catylizes (chemically burns up)....

 

Yah you can pass a smog test.I just built an engine put the old exaust back on and when I rev the car pieces of the cat fall out of the tail pipe and it still past the smog test easily.unless you have an old engine or problems with your fuel injection system you should pass.My CO-% was .36, HC-ppm was 24, and the NO-ppm was 229.check out my engine combo on my web site.link down below.
