Do you think my exhaust is hurting me?
OK, I have a 91 Formula with a 406 solid roller motor with a miniram. The exhaust is SLP 1 3/4" headers to the dinky Y-pipe into a 3" Random Tech cat into a mufflex 4" system. I shift the car around 6700.
My best 1/4 mile time so far is 12.49 @ 109. The car weighs 3725 with me in it. Do you think the headers, mainly the little 2.5" Y-pipe, are hurting my times? Do you think Hooker Super Comps would help? If so, how much improvement do you think I would see? 1 tenth? 2 tenths?

If you are talking about the Hooker 2055, which they call Super Comp, the answer is "no, they won't help". The primaries are 1-5/8" OD, the pipe from each collector is 2-1/2" OD, and the y-pipe to the cat is 3" OD. Just the primaries alone will hurt you with the Hooker shorties.
Super Comp full-length might be a different story. Then you'd have y-pipe to cat, ground clearance issues. SLP's with dual-cat would probably be a step up, though.
I certainly wouldn't complain with about your ET, though, especially at that weight. But, my frame of reference is from a track at 5800' elevation...

I was talking about the long tube super comps. Would I be better off keeping the SLP headers and adding a 2-cat setup or should I install the super comps wihtout a cat?
Also, for the Super Comps, where is hte best place to install the bung for the 02 sensor?
