84 exhaust manifold, 87 manifold any difference?

I put 87 four barrel 305 in my 82 Camaro. Bought exhaust system from a 84 camaro came with manifolds, y-pipe, and rest of exhaust. My question is the y-pipe will not go up to the passenger manifold. It looks like the manifold is at the wrong angle. I was looking at the manifold that came with the exhaust and it appears to be angled differently than the manifold that is on the motor. Other than that the manifolds look identical. Is this possible? Also is there a heat riser or something that goes between the manifold and the y-pipe because I went to buy a donut gasket for it and autozone said it is not required, but by looking at it, it should have one. unless there is supposed to be a heat riser in there. The y-pipe is one of the big ones that has the four bolt catalytic converter that is ovaled. Is this one anygood? thanks

On the older carbed engines there is some odd little valve on the manifold on the passenger side(I forget what it's called right now). It has something to do with emissions and making the motor warm up faster. The 87 & newer didn't have the valve due to FI (so I've gathered). I can tell you the factory exhaust didn't use donut gaskets from the pipe to the manifolds (from the few I've redone). My 84 lg4 has the valve on the PS manifold as to where my 87 bird didn't. That might be your angle/space differece
