sorry for not checking my mail earlier. i just now checked it. i'm not real sure which post you saw, whether it was dealing w/ my previous 3rd gen's or this one. anyhow, the setup was/is on a 305/350. i'll detail both setups for ya:
1st one: 85 iroc, carbed 305. heddman shorty with jet hot. the exhaust guy ran two pipes in the stock location. as you can imagine, it was a tight fit but i had no ground clearance problems at all. the pipes dumped into a couple of glasspacks after the rear axle, and they were tucked far enough that you couyldn't tell they were there. i had them to put on chrome turn-downs similar to stock, but they were dropped a little more than stock ones usually are so that everyone coud see how nice it looked. i really wish i had pictures, but i was young then... the system was awesome, and sounded great!
currently- 87 350 tpi, heddman shorties w/ jet hot, dumping into a dual in/ single out high-flow cat, into a 3-in after cat, into a flowmaster (80 series, maybe, i don't know), then exiting into chrome tips similar to 4th gens tips, also in the stock location. current system is okay, but it's not angry enough for me. the sound is too mellow, unless i'm turning high rpm's. since i found out that my o2 sensor wire is burned anyway and the sensor is serving no purpose, i'm gonna have "my shop" install the true duals w/ the packs. not sure on the tips yet...maybe quad borla tips...perhaps back to turn downs. in any event, after having had both systems, i will forever go w/ true duals. fyi- this shop was putting true duals on 3rd gens when others told me it was absolutely impossible. that was also yrs before i found this site. good luck.
