y pipe for hooker shorties???

I have a set of hooker shorties that I got uses. Unfortunately they have no y pipe. Where can I find a pipe for these headers? I'm trying to get away from the custom part of this. $$$ adds up quick with that

Contact Holley and you can order a Y-pipe for the shorties...I am assuming you mean the 2055's. It takes 6 to 8 weeks and will cost you $150.00. They will include an extra Y-pipe during their next factory run and ship you the extra.

I did the same thing you did...got some off ebay without the y-pipe. Came time to install and couldn't be done without THE Y-pipe or having one custom made.

Wound up ordering a whole setup from Holley/Hooker jsut so I could get the car back together again.....couldn't wait the 6 to 8 weeks.

If ANYONE would like a set of 2055's minus the Y-pipe, I have a brand new set still inthe plastic bag and the Hooker Box....also the gasket/bolt kit.

Post the name/address for this shop. People will be beating a path to his door. Would be worth a day's drive (especially if you have family in the area).

The Hooker y-pipe will only work with the 2055's. If yours have a 3-bolt collector flange, the y-pipe will not fit (although it might be adaptable to them).

yes, he mandrel bends them....he has the water pressure machine (or whatever u use to bend them) that creates equal pressure on all sides to make the bend...i watched him make it and put it on, quite impressive. The reason he charges so cheap is because he makes these things DAILY and hes been around for so long. He makes his money elsewhere too.

black91z28,

That's what I was saying above. The 3-bolt flange shorties are the 2460's, and nobody makes a pre-fabricated y-pipe for them. You might be able to take the 2055 y-pipe and have it adapted to work with the 2460's. Otherwise, you're looking at modifying the stock y-pipe (and why would you do that?), or having one fabricated.

If the guy in Omaha was willing to make up a batch of them, he'd have a ready market, that's for sure.

Shorties

Did you just drive to the shop w/out a Y-Pipe? I have the same problem. I live in Lincoln and the only decent exhaust shop here is Exhaust Pros, and they do the ****ty bending. If I were to drive up to Omaha (not in my car) would that guy help me out, or am I F-ed and have to go with the ****ty bend.

im in the same kinda situation, except im wondering how to get the ypipe, and the cat back to all hook up at the same size, i took it to this one shop and the guy told me it wouldnt work with a 3inch ypipe, it made sense since theres stuff in the way, would you have to get a new cat aswell if you wanted to get the whole system up to 3 or from 2 1/2 to the cat then 3 back? bah, im not really supposed to have carparts in the barracks, so i dont want my headers, a ypipe, a cat, and the cat back all in my walllocker untill i can get to the shop.
