Best way to fix leaky exhaust?
Best way to fix leaky exhaust?
As part of my adventures in installing a cutout, I caused a great deal of minor disfiguration to a small section of my exhaust system, namely, where the cutout piece connects to the rest of the system. As a result, I have some major leaki-ness. Sounds like a fart pipe coming out the side of my car. Awful. I tried using a heat epoxy but it just cracked after a week or so and fell off. I'm thinking of either brazing or welding it up again...but is there any other options I can consider here? Muffler tape is NOT an option. TIA.

Been there done that. That is why I don't like messing with exhaust. I just had an area muffler shop make me a piece that would fit over both ends. That is the only permanent solution without replacing entire pipe.

JB WELD!!! I dont know what the difference is in that and heat epoxy but JB Weld is whats covering up a major dent I put in my pipe trying to get my cat off. Its been there about 1-2 months and is still holding strong. That stuff is better than duct tape in my opinion.
