You can't even use a stock starter. Mine fit, but it was right against the header tubes. I bought a Mini starter, it goes in and out w/o touching the headers.

Summit Racing, around $230 for my CSI starter. A few people I know use a $125 mini starter from a place called Tommy Johnson Motorsports - none of them have called this starter junk. If you shop around you can find deals like that.

Which long tubes to you have? And yes you can change the starter with the headers on. I have the hooker lt's and installed the starter with the headers on other than the removable #8 primary which I think is probably mostly to get to the wiring.

Thats not exactly what I meant. I meant that you can change the starter with the headers installed. That said, I have the 2210s installed with the stock starter. I plan on going to a ministarter soon but have started the car fine with this combo. The one problem is on the big part of the starter that faces the front of the car there is a part that sticks out farther than the rest in the center. Mine is either increadibly close to touching or touching. I have not started driving the car yet so I dont know but this may cause problems with the starter not wanting to work to restart the car after it has been running a while and got the starter hot. Here is a pic of mine how it is now.

They are identical to yours, Jet Hot coated & everything. My stock starter barely fit, I actually had a few people tell me that it wouldn't fit. Just for arguments sake, my starter was not a cheap auto parts store replacement, it was original GM.

The headman's don't have that feature, I have a spare set hanging on my garage wall.
