whos going fastest with shorties?

Ok everyone I am trying to see if shorty headers and single exhaust is really whats holding my motor back, so I want to know whats the fastest people are going using shorty headers and single exhaust.

Thanks in advance

The one shot I ran with the shorties on (no exaust at the time) before the tranny blew was 13.0. Stupid tranny. Anyhow, that was with the Edelbrock TES headers, no exhaust. I don't think Id go with true dual unless it was side pipes though.

Mike D has gone 11.8's on a naturally aspirated 350 with SLP 1-3/4" headers with 3" catback. I've gone 12.2's on an NA 350 with SLP 1-5/8" headers with a 3" catback.

As you can see shorties can support some impressive #s. Unless you're pushing an insane # of ponies I'd look into other areas that could be your problem.

Thanks everyone, right now i'm running edelbrock tes headers and an edelbrock cat-back, my car is a single cat car so the y-pipe is pretty pinched down, I have a well built 350 in the car and my fastest time with 4 passes is 13.4 at 100 MPH it seems like something is holding my MPH down and I was thinking it was my exhaust not letting the motor breeth, the motor should have 350-400 horsepower what is your guys thought on this?

I'm running SLP 1 3/4" shorties, gutted cat, and 3" Flowmaster cat back and I'm running the times in my sig. I really don't think your headers and exhaust are a problem.

Popular Hot Rod magazine dyno'd their "My Generation Camaro" 350 build at 380 HP with TES, 3" y-pipe & muffler, q-jet. They're running a pretty mild Comp computer hydraulic roller cam.
