I want headman headers on my 89 IROC 350 but should I go with long or shorty cause i will eventually get "TRUE" dual flowmasters. Any opinions?

Depends upon what you mean by "50 state legal for TPI engines". If you mean dual cats, you are correct. However, they do make shorties w/AIR, O2, & 3" y-pipe (sitting in my garage right now, waiting for me to give them some attention), with a CARB EO# tag welded right to the #1 primary tube. P/N 2055. If you're willing to go to a 3" cat, they are 50 state legal.

If you are considering "true dual Flowmasters", then emissions does not appear to be a concern to you. In that case, it doesn't make much sense to go with shorties. Everything from the collectors to the muffler will have to be fabricated for long tube, but that's the only way to get true dual anyway.
