Hooker super comp headers??

I am looking at the Hooker Super Comp headers (1 3/4 inch) for my car, because I have heard that they are the best performing headers, and I was wondering if they are all that they are said to be? Is there really that big of performance difference from the super comps and the other top performing headers?

Well, I can't really give you a comparison being that I have only had one set of Headers on my car. However, they are the Super Comps and I would highly reccomend them. Installation was pretty easy, they only hit in one place and this was simple to take care of.

I don't know, I think the short ones. I am looking at them in Jeg's, 28 inch or something?

Does anyone know anything about the comp headers? They are a lot cheaper than the super comps, is there a big performance difference?

I think you're getting some things mixed together. They call both their long tube and shorties "Super Comps", but the shorties are 1-5/8" primaries (just got a set). Their "Comp" are long tube and (I believe, don't have the catalog in front of me) 1-5/8" primaries. The long tube Super Comps are 1-3/4" primaries. 28" would be long tube, by the way.

Any long tube you get will require a custom setup from the collector on back. The shorties can be ordered with the y-pipe (p/n 2055) to hook to a 3" slip-fit cat.

Coated Super Comps seem to be the setup of choice at the track (not 3rd-gen specific).

five7kid, What do you coat the super comps with? And does anyone know how big of performance difference there is between the comps and the super comps?

The guys I know directly I believe got them coated from Hooker. Otherwise, Jet Hot is the typical supplier for that service.
