exactly what part of the exhaust is hitting on cars with subframe connectors? is it the cat or is it the actual Y Pipe?

My cat was hitting the rectangular cross brace of the kenny brown system, and the Y-pipe hit the front 12" of the RH SFC tube.

We ended up cutting the crossbrace and relocating it, as well as chopping off the front twelve inches of the subframe connector.

Its the y-pipe that hits. SFC designers are smart enough to build them not to hit the car. I had no troubles with my Alston's.

I havn't had any clearance problems with my Spohn SFC's, the install was a lil tricky on the welding, sfc to subframe angles were a lil off... but as far as clearance goes, they do not lower the stock exhaust, and they come with cross y-braces on both sides of the car. DEFINITE handling difference.

The headers fit both single cats and dual cats. Its the y-pipe that is different. I have dual cats.

 

I have alstons and single cat with 3" exhaust and my exhaust isn't even close to hitting.
