Cheerybomb's not loud at all?!?!?!?!?!?!

i had a cherry bomb "vortex" put on my car today and it sounds just like stock.

My brother also had this muffler put on his car today but he got cat-back and straight 3 inch (i think) tips.

We both have 305 v8's. Mine (firebird) is an automatic, his (Camaro RS) is a 5 speed.

any reason why this is like this?

his pipes seem to be about a half an inch larger in circumfrence.

it didnt change the sound one bit? are you positive about that? I was thinking for awhile that they need to be broken in a bit, which may be the case, but the sound should have become a little bit louder, not to mention you probably still have the cat on it, which will make it sound a bit softer......

actually.

i went back to the muffler shop because my brothers camaro sounded so nice i wanted that sound.

They said that my car had pipes for a v6 on it but my car is a v8. the owners before me had those put on for some reason .

im going back tuesday and they will be doing the cat-back with bigger pipes and 3" chrome tips cut off at a $lant (<---why did it censor this word?!?!) . it looks really cool. i can post pics when i get it done if anyone wants.

If you change your cat to a high flow cat your exhaust will be a lot louder. Stock cats are so restrictive that they act like a muffler. My car the intermediate pipe was rusted clear out and the exhaust still wasn't much louder than stock.
