For those who installed their own headers

Did your new headers come with adapters or new brackets for the power steering, A/C, and alternator? If not(because mine didn't) what did you use or do to overcome this. I have a set of Hedman headers with the AIR injection tubes. I bought some header bolts from Advanced Auto. I also bought some collector bolts for the Y-pipe. I am just worried about the brackets for the accessories. I have been really putting this off, but would like to do it before summer is up so I can enjoy the benefit of it. Thanxs!

i am a topic answering **** tonite

you should not have to reloacte any accessories. i put edlebrocks in my car and had no problems with alternator or anything else. i am not sure about the heddmans but i dont think anything has to be moved. the only problems are trying to fa-naggle them in but once they are in there is planty of room, and trying to put the collector bolt in on the pass side (frame rail soo close) at least on my car with my headers. but....i dont think yours should be too hard to put in. also you may get them in easier from the bottom. but i always did mine from the top
stock Y pipe though???? mine came with bolts and a new Y pipe

Darn it! I broke my cardinal rule! Never post about something without searching for it first!
Thanxs M-T. I really screwed up. I normally read questions and wonder why they didn't search for the answer prior to asking. I'll try not to make that mistake again!

My Edlebrock TES headers went in without any extra parts and without any bending of the brackets.

My TES's went in pretty easily without bending anything other than a slight bend in the oil dipstick. I didn't relocate anything and I only had one accessorie bracket to mess with and a spacer and longer bolt (provided) solved the issue. The drivers side went in very easily with the valve cover off. The passenger side required the removal of the starter and the knock sensor, then it slid in nicely from below. The header to y-pipe bolts will be in tight locations so make sure you have extensions.

Matt
