I have a flowmaster with hollow cats on my 89 gta it has the duel cat set up. Will replacing the 3" stock pipe from the cats back help any, I don't see how just the pipe would help since I already have a 3" on it from the factory.

I wouldn't see any reason to unless you are increasing the size of the pipe. However, if the pipe is old and corroded, you might want to look into replacing it.
