Probably a dumb question
If I install headers, I need the Y-Pipe. Does this meen that I need a new cat that flows 2 into 1 or can I just use the regular cat I have now. The reason I ask is because I just put on a new high-flow cat about 2 months ago. Any info would be nice here. Also, any recommendation of which headers to go with, I am leaning toward hooker.

Actually it is a very good question. If a good set of headers has a three inch y pipe and you get a 3 inch cat how do you know it will bolt right up. this sounds stupid but a lot of three inch exhausts have reducers from 2.25" to 3" so that you can keep your cat. My hooker cat back is 3" but reduces to 2.25" to slip on my cat. How do I get it to slip onto a three inch when I get headers? Do they have to cut the pipe and weld on a three inch to inch adapter?
