Are 4th generation mufflers the same as third?

Engine: 5.0 in the sports coupe-350 in the berlinetta
Transmission: 700r4 in the sports coupe-turbo-350 with a 2500 stal in the berlinetta
Are 4th generation mufflers the same as third?

Should i upgrade to a 3inch pipe on a lg4 when i put this muffler on?

Yes, 4th gen mufflers and thirdgen mufflers are interchangeable. And yes you should put a 3" cat-back on your LG4.

When I tried to put my friends '99z28 muffler and tips on the Firebird, it was too wide. It was hitting the heat shields under the car. Maybe you can modify the shields. That muffler was huge though.
