Deep sump pan/shorty header space?
Deep sump pan/shorty header space?
has anyone installed a deep sump pan into their 3rd gen that flares out to keep ground clearance like a 45 degree angle?...I recently put on my shorty headers and the drivers side seems to point directly at the flared part of the pan, maybe 4-5 inches of space to squeeze pipes, my question is do you think it is better to get rid of the pan and get a regular deep sump, or are their good exhaust guys that can make something for me that is not to restrictive?thanks, Kris
hope this pick comes out to show you

I've got the 7qt. pan that's kicked out at the bottom and full tubes and have plenty of space, getting the oil filter is another story, and the starter if it ever goes out-oh boy, but I don't see why a reputable shop could'nt bend something up for clearance.
Thanks, I agree, i had a hell of a time with the passenger side by the starter, but the drivers side is the one that is the problem for clearance. You said you had full tubes?... i guess mine are just shaped different at the bottom,...here ill e-mail you a pics so you can tell me what you think.
thanks for the help Kris.
