Installed new super comps.. starter won't fit

Installed new super comps.. starter won't fit

anyone have problems with this... i have long tube 1 3/4 hooker headers.... i tryed loosing up the header but it still won't go.... any ideas with out spending choo choo bucks on a mini starter

Axle/Gears: 3.42 10 bolt, Eaton/Moser
The directions that came with my Hooker LT (#2210) said you had to remove the tube for cylinder #8 and put the passenger header up near the heads, but not attached, then install the starter with the header up toward the radiator out of the way. Then bring the header back into place and install the tube for cylinder #8 and bolt the header to the head.

This worked for me! I even had the starter wrapped in a heat shield or blanket. It was a little tough to put the wires to the starter, especially with the cover in heat sleeving.
