Dual cat catback and standard Y-pipe

I have a 3 inch Flowmaster catback designed for 89-92 dual cat TPI cars. Obviously it is designed for the stock dual cat y-pipe. I want to add headers but the only companies that make dual cat Y-pipes are Edelbrock and SLP. I hear Edelbrock headers suck and SLPs are too pricey for this 18 year old. Could I get Does anyone offer a 3inch Y-pipe that I could use with a fabricated 3 inch connecting pipe? Anyone else have any good ideas? I hope this ade sense. Thanks in advance.
