Anyone know anything about GM's high flow exhaust manifolds for third gens?
Anyone know anything about GM's high flow exhaust manifolds for third gens?
They are GM part #'s 14094063 and 14094064. Has anyone tried them? Do they fit like stock under the hood? At $110 each are they worth it? Thanks for any thoughts
They came on the TPI cars. They have a 2 1/4 outlet. I have a set for sale if you're interested.
Theres another set that are stainless. They came on TPI equipped Vettes- have a center outlet, and won't fit on a 3rd gen.

Why buy exhaust manis for that kind of money? Just get a set of headers, they're not much more and are wayyy better.

Those are the same exhaust manifolds that came on 350 TPI cars. I'm sure you can find someone who will give you a set, or sell you a set, cheaply.

I just swapped some of those manifolds on temporarily while i wait for my headers. They are most definitely a larger piece and have an ~ 1/2" bigger outlet to them. I put dual cats on at the same time, and the swap from the TBI style small outlet manifolds/2.25" cat made a noticeable difference in every phase of driving. If you don;t want to fight with headers these are defnitely a worthy upgrade from the small manifolds, and if you leave teh AIR tubes off 'em, plug access is a breeze. Keep in mind you will have to swap to one of the TPI Y pipes, either the single 3" or a dual cat set up, the dual cats being decidedly better due to the real Y after the cats vs a T for the 3" set up.
edit, i forgot to add that as the others said, these manifolds are plentiful and cheap, i wouldn't pay more than $20-50 for a pair. These things are alwyas in the classifieds here for that much. If you ask around you'll be surprised who has a set laying around, i got mine for free as they were sitting on a guys garage floor just wasting space.

Just picked up a set of these manifolds to replace the tiny ones on my lg4. Did the cars these came on have a heat riser on the pass side? And can someone point me to someone who has the factory y-pipe to go with these manifolds. I'll be replacing the cat also.
