i heard other people saying theres is 2.5", and mine measure to 3". wut is the stock?

I've come to the conclusion that stock intermediate pipe size on the GTA is 3 inches, but it is tapered in spots down to 2 3/4, and at the muffler inlet is tapered down to 2 1/2 inches. I emailed Maremont ands asked the same q. They told me the above info. My rpo says I have the "Performance Package 5.7" setup. I am assuming ALL GTA's had the "Performance Package". Maybe not. But I think the "Performance Package" is the 'stock' package on a a GTA. COnfusing.


Stock pipe intermediate on a 5.0 is probably 2 1/2 or so....

88 GTA 5.7 TPI Charcoal Grey Bone Stock except for loose muffler which makes it a bit louder than normal.

 

GTA88 is right it is 3" but only in some places .... kinda defeats the purpose big small big small, you think GM could get it right or something.

i measured the pipe at my muffler inlet, and it was 3". so a catback would take care of GM's crappyness here right?
