Illinois Emmissions
Illinois Emmissions
Well, I must say that I'm a Chevy virgin. I've driven an old 4-cyl rustang for the last few years and I'm ready to upgrade. I just bought a 90 camaro rs without an engine. I've got a 350 with an Edelbrock Performer intake and a Holley 550 on it. I want to get a better intake and I have a Holley 750. I'm somewhat worried about emmissions though. The stock 305 had 170hp. My setup will have a lot more, and I do not know if it will pass. Does anyone know of anything that I can do?
Thank you,
Will

If you want, you can have it registered as a show car and then its emissions exempt. But then I think you can only drive it like 500 miles/year or something.

Illinois Emissions = catalytic converter/ smog pump/ A.I.R. tubes on your ride.............unless you do the classic car and only drive it less than 500 miles per year.............Emissions here su*k....
we don't have a visual in illinois do we??? cuz they never checked my car for any of the stuff. they just put it on the dyno and sniffer tested it.all three tiems i went. third time was a charm. i failed by double the limit both of the first times i went. what i did was plugs, wires, cap rotor, new cat and i put 2 bottles of the " you pass or we pay" stuff into my tank when i had like an 1/8 of a tank and drove around for a lil and then filled my car up and threw in another bottle. then i went took my emissions. passed that third time.
