I just got Summits 3" muffler, not the $20 one (2.5" inside dia.) but the welded 3" for $39 (true 3"). I have an SLP cat-back but it was missing the muffler and tailpipes. I think it was because the owner before me was a dip **** and wanted the dual look so he sold or junked the SLP stuff. Anyways, I then spent a good hour finding the local Meineke. $28 cash later and I have my single 3" tailpipe. Yes the bend was the crimp but I really don't care considering this is a super cheap job to get me past inspection.
I just need to fab up the hanger for the drivers side and bolt it on with my $0.97 3" clamps . I slipped the system together loose and the car sounded really good. I hope it lasts till next summer when I can afford a custom stainless rear section with dual 3" turndown tips .
I'll try and get a sound recording, when I do expect it to be up on my website in a week along with a motherload of new pictures of my stealth stereo install.
All in all, I'm expecting this patch job to cost less than $75. The only tricky part now is getting the hanger welded for free.
