Two ideas--What do you think?
I was sitting here looking through some magazines and i got two ideas...What do you think about them? Which one would you choose? What would you change?
1. True duals running straight from the exhaust manifolds with Dynomax Super Converters, 3 inch pipes, and Dynomax, Thrush, or Flowtech Glasspack mufflers.

You would be wasting your money without headers. The headers would not allow you to flow the exhaust to fill up the 3"pipe.
Without heavy duty mods IE: stroked or forced induction you would be better off with duel 2.5" exhaust and headers.

ok now i get it...im learning im learning lol. I heard the Dynomax headers are being discontinued...DAMN
So what headers would you reccommend...About the only mods i plan on making in the engine are K&N filter and CompCam264. So which headers should I get, and would true duals be worth it. One guy told me that cat-back sounds better than duals on a third generation, but i figured that the true duals would flow much better, giving better performance. What would you do?

I'd get hookers, no cat, and hooker catback.
headers are $320, catback is $260. Or SLP headers (if I could afford them) https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/...ML/002802.html

The SLP's are no better...I've heard plenty of people say that their SLP's (which perform perfectly fine) still have appearance problems..I think someone on the boards here mentioned it once and had pics...it wasn't as bad as the Edelbrock TES he tested, but they weren't all peachy :P

it depends where you live and what your goals are. Do you want them to last the life of the car, do you want them to be show quality, to you want them to keep the gasses hot and moving to get the max HP gain?... it all depends what you want. That's why I said "need" in quotations.

ok, so if i WANT them to look nice, and i WANT them to flow better, and i WANT them to last forever, then would getting coated headers be the way to go?

well if money is an objets just get some flowtech, they come with the stiff so you can keep your air tubes and they are the same thing as heddmans, they are evn made in the same place. just differnt name plates and they are a ton cheaper. you can get painted flowtechs for $160 w/ a y pipe
if you don't have to have 50 state legal headers, get the cheap hookers for $150 and get them coated.
