Hooker CatBack on 89 Camaro RS
Hooker CatBack on 89 Camaro RS
I bought a Hooker cat back system model 16820 for a 1989 Camaro RS (305 TBI). Couple questions/observations. The camaro had two different style exhaust brackets holding the old system on, the driver side had the 'hanging belt' while the passenger side had a rubber mount where the old system slid into. I got another hanging mount, since the Hooker system needed it. I hung the muffler and began work on the main pipe. I get it slotted into the pipe going over the rear axle and now there is about 2 inches of space between the cat and the main pipe. I've tried and tried and can't close up the gap.
Anyone else have this experience? I guess now would be a good time to upgrade to a high flow cat, but will this solve the problem? TIA...
