has anyone noticed how crappy the exhaust is by the oil pan?

has anyone noticed how crappy the exhaust is by the oil pan?
was changing my oil the other day and i noticed that the y-pipe which is near the oil pan, seems to be squished and molded to fit a really small like area. kinda confusing, but no where near the diameter on both sides of it. i took a pic that i hope to have developed in a few days.
