Hooker Comp Headers On 305 TBI

Hooker Comp Headers On 305 TBI

My mechanic told a friend of mine that they didnt fit or somthing wasn't compatible with my engoine for these headers. i ordered th correct ones from Summit and just got them in the mail. These are definately able to be put on my car right? if anyone has the same engine and has done this plase let me know. i have heard they are a headache to do but are possible. thank you

Which ones did you get? The 2055's (not in the paper catalog) have a y-pipe with a 3" slip-fit connection to the cat, which probably means you'll need a 3" cat to go to them, and probably some kind of adapter to the cat-back.

The 2460's don't have any y-pipe, and won't fit to your factory pipe. You'll have to get a y-pipe fabricated, in which case you might get something that will mount up to your current cat, but will be restrictive. You'll probably have other re-routing to do, like the A.I.R. hoses, but that's not too big a deal.

The best headers for our 305 TBI's are either the Edelbrock TES or the Hedman ones for 305 TBI's. Both are a bastard to install, but they're great. I think top top of the line would be Borla or SLP, but I didn't even investigate if they made headers for a 305 TBI. :P
