slp coated headers

Is the SLP coating as good as the Jet Hot coating? Anyone have experience here?

SLP only coats the headers, not the y-pipe. If you want the y-pipe coated, you might as well get the headers coated by jet-hot at the same time as the y-pipe.

We have a GP going on SLP headers from Thunder Racing so check out the thread if you need a set, we could use a few more people. I would be interested in getting the Y-pipe coated as well if some others do the same, maybe we could get a reduced price on a few pipes through Jet Hot.

Let me know if you're interested.

I have had my SLP coated headers on for over a year now and they look just like they did the day I put them on.
25THRSS - I don't think Jet Hot has SLP headers. I think they only have Hooker headers.

What i involved in actually shipping the headers to jet hot? Is it possible to have slp send the headers directly to jet hot and then to your house? Thanks

I doubt SLP will ship to Jet Hot and then to your house- they will probably let you do that. I wouldn't hurt to ask them though. As far as what would be involved, you would just have to turn around and ship them to Jet Hot when you get them from SLP. Jet Hot will probably give you a service order number or something, coat them when they get 'em, and ship them back when they're done. Easy....

This is from Jet Hot's website:

Save time, money and frustration. Let Jet-Hot supply you with a brand new, name brand, set of headers, already coated! Most major manufacturers don't use Jet-Hot, but instead use a cheaper, inferior coating that they pass off as "just-like Jet-Hot." Get the best of both worlds and buy Hooker, Hedman or Flowtech headers coated inside & out with our Sterling finish. We also back up our coating with a Lifetime Rust-through Warranty.

Looks like they don't supply you with SLPs.

And since I'm thinking of it, I will probably just get my headers uncoated and send them to Jet Hot for total coating of the Y-pipe too. You can also go to Jet Hot's website and submit a request for a quote for what you want done. This will help you decide.
