Help me get rid of exhaust rattling!
Help me get rid of exhaust rattling!
My exhaust pipe is in contact with the heat shield that is above the cat. Is there anything I could put in between the pipe and the heat shield to stop the rattles? My exhaust mods are in my signature if that helps. Please help me because my exhaust used to sound good but it is ruined by an annoying rattle.

Do you have SFCs?
What ever you do, don't put anything imbetween the cat and the sheild. You'll get worse vibration and heat will transfer and melt carpet
(trust me on that last part). Did you check all your exhaust hangers? The one on the tranny is very important. There are only 3 hangers, one on the tranny to the cat neck, one on the intermediate pipe just over the rear axle and the other is on the other side of the car holding up the muffler by the tailpipe (or at least it should be). My rattles were because I didn't have a muffler and so the intermediate pipe would bounce around. Go back and check to make sure your exhaust is secure at ever point.
