any tips on removing my muffler?
i am replacing my stock muffler with a new flowmaster muffler i should be getting in a few days so i figured id start now and remove my old muffler, much easier said than done! i just tried for 3 hours to get it off and i couldnt even get it to budge, its not welded on its just clamped. i tried a hammer with a screwdriver, just a hammer, i tried shaking it and trying to get it broke loose but i just cant do it, anybody have any tips? how did u get yours off? thanks

First you realize that the stock muffler is longer than the Flowmaster and once installed you're tailpipes will not exit the car in the same location meaning they probably will not be lined up
in the same location they once were but since they are the stock
pipes you can't really see them from behind the car anyway unless you later add chrome tips.As for getting the muffler off,try
takeing a small angel grinder and slice the pipe a couple of inches longwise where it comes out of the muffler and then try getting a screw driver in there and spred the pipe apart and slide the muffler off.BE CAREFULL YOU DON'T GRIND THRU BOTH PIPES!

i didnt know that, thanks for the info bill. i will probably end up trimming off some of the tail pipe to make them as even as i can. i do have chrome tips on my tailpipes but they are the screw on type so i can take them off if needed, i was going to weld them on but i want to wait till i get the muffler on adn stuff, does anybody know about how much shorter the flowmaster is than stock? thanks

What I ment by you're tailpipes not exiting in the stock locations is
that like before where you're tailpipes were set in about 10 inches
from the sides of the car, they now will be offset and one maybe in 10 inches and the other over a foot in from the side of the car.
