I have read the post all over, but I still like to have some serious advice on headers and catbak. I have a Z28 305 tpi, completly stock. I want the meanest sound there is to get. Price doesn´t matter... so which brand should I go for? Flowmaster, slp, borla etc..???

it's up to you what sounds best. I'm getting slp headers and a flowmaster cat back(and a high flow cat of course)

I would recommend going with the Flowmaster American Thunder 3" catback with dual 3" tailpipes. It sounds really deep and loud especially after about 2 months of driving. And it's all stainless steel too!

There's nothing better than a hooker... cat-back, everyone will say SLP headers are the best but I'm not sure their worth twice the price.

I like SLP headers. For Cat-Back for the sound you want either Flowmaster, Borla, or Mac. Mac does rust (very) easily, Flows will outlast Mac's, and Borla will outlive your car in terms of rust.
I do not have exp. with SLP, but I don't like the sound of Dynomax. There's a Mustang near my house and it's loud but not a good sound to my ears. Ask some of the owners or nice sounding cars in your town and see what they have, your opinion of nice sounding exhaust may be totally differant than mine.

Just for the info, the Flowmaster American Thunder is not stainless steel. It is aluminized steel. It will inhibit rust for quite awile, but not near what SS would. No flaming, but the guy is in Sweden. I don't think he wants to make a mistake like that.
