How will getting rid of my EGR system effect my engine?
I am putting a 1990 Vette L-98 into my 1972 Blazer. The stock exhaust manifolds totally block the boss on the block that would allow me to run mine stock clutch linkage. I was thinking about getting headers to solve this problem but that would mean losing the EGR. How would this effect the running and performance of my engine? Any suggestions on reasonable priced decent headers?

If your keeping all the TPI, computer, etc, it may cause a ping at mid-throttle light loads. When the computer thinks the motor's getting EGR, it adds extra timing, which may cause a ping if you don't have functional EGR to lower combustion temps.
If you're thinking of getting headers, because you want headers, go for it. If you're only looking for a way to solve your linkage problem, just use the blazer's original manifolds...they should fit without a problem.
I'm afraid I don't have any experience with which to recommend any particular header for you, but I'm sure someone else here does.

Thanks for the info. I have to get the chip burned anyway because I need to get rid of the VATS too. Is there any other system that I should be aware of when I am getting my new chip burned?
