Dual exhaust
Dual exhaust
I'd like to have a dual exhaust on my car after the engine is built and swapped, but I've heard some bad stuff about it. I'd like to run an X-pipe with those Moroso Spiral Flow mufflers. I've heard that this wouldn't sound good, especially when you let off the gas. But I have heard good things about the Hooker Cat Back systems. Do you have to use a Y-pipe w/ those, do they make them w/ dual cats. I know I could probably find out about this myself but I'd rather have someone more experienced to talk about it. BTW, the engine will be a 383 Stroker, Minirammed. Thanks.
Well half the people are going to tell you not to do it because its impossible, or its not needed yadda yadda
And then a bunch will tell you to do a search on the archives, cause the topic has been covered ALOT.
So first of all...
Yes you can do it. Dont let anybody tell you you cant.
Secondly, go do a search

On a personal note,
Thirdly, if anyone tells you a y-pipe single exhuast, no matter the size will be just as good as a x or h dual exhuast, laugh at them. Sure, their one main pipe *MAY* produce less sidewall friction, but two pipes will give you a greater internal area overall, as well as the lack of turbulance (most of the power killing) that a y-pipe exhuast cuases.
