O2 sensor fitting

if I get longtubes without this for my TPI (heddmans 1-5/8s) should I just buy one out of the summit cataloge and cut the hole with a hole saw?
do I need to use special weld that will hold up to exhaust temps?
where should I place it -- close to the primaries or the collector?
is there a difference in the fitting for a heated one vs. a non heated O2?

thanks
