just want info--why are people down on borla?

no one will answer my hooker or borla muffler posts so how about this--why are people down on Borla mufflers. Every V8 car I have heard with a Borla sounds great. Plus they're supposed to last forever. Is it because of the cost? And yes, I want to know if you would recommend hooker aerochamber?

I love the Hooker cat-back. Plus I think in Summit the Borla is like $400 and there is a side note about it being only the muffler back.

in my opinion the really only redeamable feature of the borla is how long it lasts. i persoally think they sound kinda crapy. they sound like straight pipes. wait a second, they are basicly like straight pipe when the restrictor plate is gone (nobody runs a restrictor plate) so the way i see it, using borla is like using a WAY over priced set of straigt pipes.

I originally bought the Borla cat back system back in 1991 for my 86-Z28. A muffler shop installed the entire system. Sounded good and with the interchangeable plates, I could change the tone of the noise. I agree that Borla systems cost allot more than your average exhaust system but then again you are also paying for the name. Prior to getting the Borla, I had a Flowmaster, which did not last, long in Washington State. (Whidbey Island) 10 years later I still have my Borla and it now resides on my 1992 RS complete with the 1 5/8 SLP headers. (Thanks to the thirdgen group purchase) Getting the Borla system was one of the best purchases I have done for my Camaro's.
