Modified 305 w/ stock manifolds
I'm running an 87 Z-28 305 TPI. I have a SLP cam (219/220 .487/.492), Paxton supercharger (8 PSI), Accel #30 injectors, AFPR @ 45PSI, 3.73 rear end, Flowmaster cat back exhaust.
I performed an exhaust back pressure test and found 1PSI at 2000. I know the stock heads don't flow very good, so I'm thinking why buy headers? If the weak flow point is in the heads what will headers do?
Is anyone else running a modified 305 w/ stock heads? If so what are your thoughts.

Many of the people on this board whose knowledge and opinions I respect would agree that it is always better to improve how the engine "breates out" before you improve the way it "breathes in".
I have yet to open the block and the exhaust mods have given me noticeable gains, the headers rate the best.
Imagine how much better your cam and supercharger would run.

Blown87, you are correct in that the heads do not flow that great. But the stock manifolds flow even less. The ideal mod would be to but new heads on but without the headers they are useless.
