how to test for pressure when deciding to replace CATS or not...?

what can i do, or where can i go to test for pressure to see if i need to replace my catalytic converters or not.

to test to see if the cat is clogged you remove the o2 sensor and see if it revs better, i have no idea about flow checking.

The manual specifies to replace the O2 sensor with an adapter and pressure gauge, then run the engine to cruising rpm and record the reading. I don't have the number with me right now, but there's a threshold that indicates a restricted exhaust.
