ok, I have a 85 Camaro, LB9 305. Cat converter cut off. It has like 110,000 miles on it and I was wanting to know a few things.
1. Anyone know if Dynomax super turbo mufflers are deep and/or loud sounding and clean flowing for a cat back? If not whats a good cat back muffler for a low price.
2. What are good headers to use for a low price? I was looking at Dynomax headers with the cat back system. Will this be loud and deep sounding? I want loud and good sounding!
Thanks in advance!!!!

I have a 305 '86 IROC that I put a Dynomax cat-back 3" exhaust on at the end of the summer. The price is extremely affordable for what you get. There are only a few complaints that I have with the system, 1. the sound is not as quite loud or deep as i would like it to be. it seems that recently it has gotten a little bit softer in tone, but that may be my ear becoming adjusted to it. i also have a minor complaint that the exhaust hanger is difficult to maneuver over the axle, and therefore cause a small bit of trouble. overall this is a great improvement over the previous 2 1/2" reducer that was welded to the cat. i got mine from summit for just over $150.
Yeah, But you see. I have no cat converter. I will also have headers on the cat back system. Like I said, I would like a deep powerful tone yet loud enough to turn heads. If there is a better way to do it tell me.

Hey, I put the 3" Dynomax cat back on my 91' LO3 Firebird. For the price I can't complain at all, but as far as a deep tone, not really. It isn't bad, but it is pretty quiet unless you really get on it. I only turn the heads of guys who aren't used to rustangs. (why can't our cars sound like that, no fair, I want duals!!!)

ya know i dont think dynomax has a 3" I-pipe.
It interested me when i read that they have a "flared" 3" connection to cat, meaning that the pipe is either 2.5" or 2.75"...right??

I have the exact same year and engine as you, this is how your car would sound with headers and a hooker exhaust

Any performance cat-back will do. It doesn't have to be 3"...2.5" is fine.
