Hard to find headers!!!!!

everyone i go to says i have to buy these headers that cost 600 dollars for my 250 tpi because it has polution control and the y pipe has to be special or something like that i would like to know what you guys paid and if it has to have pollution control on it. and does it make a huge diffrence in the performance of the car? and what kind of muffler would give my car a deep sound at low rpm and a really deep sound at high rpm someone told me dynomax turbo will do that i would like some feed back on that though.reply

Hooker Cat-backs give a great low rumble and are sweet in the higher RPMs too. If you do a search you can find a sound clip of it on here some where. As for the headers, it basicly boils down to SLP (the $600 ones) are the only stainless steel ones out there and also the only 1 3/4" shorties. If you pay the extra cash to get other brands coated, the stainless doesn't really matter, but if you want to mod a 350 out you want 1 3/4. Just what I gathered from reading the archives.
