TES installation - attn 87 GTA 5.7 folks...
OK. I am thinking of installing my TES headers (finally) during the "off-season". Since there are so many different engine configs for the various years and models, I am asking for pointers and tips from those who have a 1987 GTA with the 350 L98.
What is the best approach and what are the gotchas I need to be aware of? Do I do it from the top, the bottom, or both? I am not sure I can even get at the stock manifold bolts!
I am hoping that with advice from guys who have been there I might be able to avoid getting bit in the a$$!!
Thanks for all your help
Eric

I Have slp headers on my car but that shouldnt make a lot of difrence the are a straight bolt on not much of a problem just do a test fit and get every thing ware it needs to be before you start to clamp it all together or weld what ever rought you are going the problem most have is the headers rubing the stearing shaft if this hapens to you do not put a dent in the headers to fix the problem order a set of replacement engine mounts polyurethane will be your best bet that will lift the engine back in the same spot it was from the factory also I dont know about the edlbrock but you may have to do some fab work on the A/c bracket slp makes a bracket to get over this with thier headers but I dont think edlbrock does. The only other problem I had was with a few of the bolts I origanaly bought an arp bolt kit but found it would not work with them so I bought some stainless alen head bolts and polished them up and used them. I would also recomend to get some type of heat sleeve for the back two plug wires they sit a little close to the headers.
