Whats up guys....just a simple question here. Ok, i'm looking into the HOOKER Headers for my 92 bird. I searched in summit, and one of them is $149. I'm not really looking into the ceramic coating, they are too much for my budget right now. But i saw other ones for double the price without the coating? Why? Because they are clamp on instead of welded on? I'm new to this, so please help me out!Thanx!

The more expensive sets come with the y pipe and are a direct bolt on no fab work needed with the hookers that you are looking at their is no y pipe you will have to have it made this will coast at least $50 dollers and you will have a flow problem the colectors that hooker uses with the headers are straight down so you will have to have a set of colectors made that turn to the back of the car on the pass side and to the pass side form the driver side this will coast more cash. If you decide to go the 50 route then they will just cut the colector off short and and cut the tubing in to 45 angels and weld them to gether this will not only flow very well but givr you ground clearnce problrms you have to remember those headers dump in to 1 3in to 2 1/2 colector that puts them close to the ground and vary hard to get a clean smoth bend on them to tie them all togther Iv seen a few cars with them and I would not use them.Not only that but if you need the smog stuff you will have to weld in the air tubes as well.Buy the time you spend the cash to make them fit correctly you could have bought a set of the better headers.
