How much clearance is safe for headers????

How much clearance is safe for headers????
Just installed a set of headers on my third gen and was wondering how much clearance is needed around the brake lines. I pushed them about 1/2 inch away but they still get hot. What have you heard or done about this problem.

Axle/Gears: 10 Bolt 3.73
Mine are close too,bent them out of the way as much as possible.Still, you could add some fire-sleeve, or other heat-insulating wrap around the brake lines that are closest.
DEI makes all kinds of this stuff, used it on my starter wires as well.
