Ground clearance
I was wondering how much ground clearance do you guys who have cat-backs and you car lowered, have?
I let my car back down on the ground a few days ago after having it on blocks for a couple of months. During that time I've installed a complete exhaust system, and it seems mighty low? I can't see anywhere to adjust it to get it higher though...?

Ken, Ive talked to a couple low rider guys (non thirdgen) and asked about ground clearance before I had my duals installed. One of the guys had no problems out of the ordanary the other had to get his pipe ovalized. (heat up and flatten bottem of pipe)Usually with a catback there should be no problems because its in the same area as the stock pipe just side by side. I would take it easy on the streets for a while and just fine the places where you car will bottem out and avoid them. yea common sence stuff but its all the advice I can give ya.
Good luck!

82 Firbird, rebuilt 355 for it and slaped a 700r4 in. The 700r4 crapped out so back to the tb350

SSC,
Thanks for the thumbs up on my car
Yeah, the cat-back goes in the stock location, but I can't recall the stock exhaust being as low. But then again, it has been a couple months since I ripped off the original exhaust, so I might be wrong...LOL
Thanks for your inputs!
Anyone else have ground clearance problems with lowered car and 3" catback?

hey ChevyKen, I also have an Edelbrock RPM Cat-Back on my 82 Z28 and know what you are talking about with the ground clearance. The I-pipe is about 3-4inches from the ground! As far as i know, there is no easy fix. Just gotta drive slowly over speed bumps :\
