take-off cat back from 2001 SS or WS6

I saw this add for a take-off cat back from a 2001 camaro SS or WS6 trans am. Mandrel bent pipes. includes tips. Would this exhaust be any good? Where would you place it..better than stock, but not better than...? I ask because it is only 99.00.

That is SLP exhaust, definitely better than stock. Not better than something five times expensive, but a great deal nonetheless.

are you sure? why would it be sooo cheap? i mean it is "take off", but it is new. isn't slp better than flowmaster or dynomax? this includes mandrel bent catback AND tips. i guess i'm just surprised this didn't get much reaction. Any body else know about it?

in my educated opinion: My friend gave me a stock rear secion exaust (muffler and tailpipes) from a '99z28. It was too wide and it hit some heat shield type things under the car. Insted of trying to trim these I just got a flowmaster. All I really wanted were the '99z28 tips but I figured I might as well try to fit the whole thing if I could.

For $99 it might fit and it might not. If its an SLP exaust, it will fit with slight modifications. Probably the way it bends to get to the cat. If its a GM factory exaust you might have to trim those heat shield things under the car I was talking about. Either way its not 100% bolt on but still very doable

I wouldn't think it was SLP because they are selling what they take off, which is the facotry exhaust. They are replacing the factory exhaust with the SLP. Its the same deal with the take off rear end. They swap out the read end for a stronger one and sell the factory one as "take off". However, If that exhaust can support 325 hp in the SS and WS6 than I would think it could support whatever power a third gen has. Unless you have serious mods on a motor bigger than a 305 or mild 350. I say buy it. But getting it to fit could be a whole other story
