flowtech header questions 11102flt
I just picked up some flowtech headers part no 11102flt...they were only 63.00 through pep boys(I dunno how or why, they are like 120-160 everywhere else). Anyways, I havent ordered the y pipe yet but on the instrustions it says I can use my stock collectors....I wanted to verify that before I got everything apart.
also, they don't have the AIR holes...no big deal really, I'll just swap in my manifolds for emissions unless-would it be unwise to tap the holes into the headers? does that do anything for the stability of the header? thanks,
Jason

Take my advice and don't get the y-pipe. I have it and it flows terrible. The stock pipe probably flows better. I am cutting it up and welding two pipes together to improve it.

You cant use your stock pipe unless you weld on the collectors to the stock ypipe, that flowtech give you with the headers. But im not sure if you would need to do any custom bending to make it fit. I wasnt going to mess around i just wanted a direct bolt on so i got the ypipe too. The flowtech ypipe isnt the best out there but its not a ****y pipe buy anymeans. Mine fit perfect! the only thing i didnt like was that it wasnt painted and that the Y part is more of a T. But its not like I have the full mandrel 3'' pipes behind it anyhow so thats the least of my "flo" worry. All in all Im happy with my set up. If I wanted a little better I would of went and spent 3times as much on the other brands.

I am just saying if you have a built motor, it might become quite restrictive. Other brands kind of run two pipes into one which is what a y pipe should do. This one is just a T. On a basically stock motor it will be fine. You're right, it does fit perfectly. I've had no problems installing and removing it.
