Did anyone's mufflex "bolt in"?

I purchased the complete 4" mufflex system with Y-pipe for my hooker LT's. Tomorrow I am going to install the system and Im hoping to leave for the track by 4. I am not going to rush the installation but me and my brother will do it together. We have about 5 hrs. Is it feasible to think Ill get it in in this time or no? Any suggestions?

With a stock trans crossmember you stand a chance. I have the Spohn setup on mine & the Mufflex Y-pipe would not fit. I ended up fabricating my own with welded together mandrel bent elbows. It took me about a week to complete.

I have a six-speed (T-56) with a skulte x-member and the exhaust shop had to fab a few things to get it right and tucked decently so that it didnt hang down so low. They had it done in 3 hours.

Good luck!

I had to actually cut the pipe from the cats where it meets the pipe going over the axle. By doing this I was able to tuck mine up nice and tight.

I bolted my mufflex exhaust in today it took like 4 hrs beacuse I had to do most by myself. Either way my car wont start now. I have no clue why because I am getting spark and fuel. Also, it started fine before the install and during when I had to change the ramps from front to back. Anyone have any ideas. It sounds like I am getting intermittent spark... I didnt have time to check. I got a huge backfire out of the carb (with a small fire) and a very loud backfire out of the exhaust while trying to start it. It will turn but not all the way over-that is my starter is working. I was supposed to race tonight but my car sits home in the garage. Thanks

When you ask how well does it work, do you have headers also? I have the setup for long tube hooker headers. in my opinion it will definately help your motor breathe but in order to get a full advantage from it you need to beef up the motor.

Well we need to know alot of things. First of all how much money do you have lol. In my opinion I would start off with some headers and exhaust. If you want the mufflex four inch system you need to find out what it will bolt on to. Do you plan on keeping the cat? You can go with the hooker supercomp headers and mufflex Ypipe and whole system but there is no cat. Another option is the SLP headers and Ypipe with the mufflex cat back. Get the spintech muffler, It screams!! The reason that I suggest exhaust first is because no matter what kind of motor is in there (assuming a 350) you can always retain the exhaust.

Is your motor a TPI? If so I would say that you should do a head/cam combo. You can go with a nice set of aluminum heads with matching cam or just machine your heads and match a cam. A stall converter at about 2400-2800 RPM could work well with this combo. There is just too much that you can do. We need to know more info from you. The best way in my opinion is to buy a bolt on supercharger haha. Youll get a couple secs from that! Money is a key factor as well as the miles on your motor. No sense in putting money in a motor thats on its way out.

AFR 195 heads, Stealth Ram, Comp 276 cam, Hooker longtubes, at least that's what I did . The only entity that will benefit from you having a 4" exhaust would be Mufflex with your money. Even their 3.5" system would be overkill until you hit 400 hp or more.
