gutting converter?
hey guys,
The other day i hit a speed bump and it dented my converter a little bit. I then noticed a rattling sound. So the other day I got under the car and sure enough it was coming from the converter. Well the converter is a brand new catco hi-flow. it is welded to the y-pipe and its got those bolt things that connects to the cat back exhaust. I was wondering if i can gut the converter by just disconnecting that one end of the exhaust? Thanx guys.

Are you sure it's the converter? I had that same problem with mine except it was the air tube going from the smog pump to the converter rattling up against the exhaust pipe next to the converter.

its definitely not the air tube. I tried playing the tube and it is stuck on that bitch good. I put my ear up against the converter and it is rattling inside. So if somebody could answer my question. Can I gut the converter by just disconnecting it from the far end? Thanx guys .
Yes you can stick a big screwdriver or something in it and hit it with a hammer to break it all up and then start the car and rev it to blow out the pieces and keep doing that until its empty.
