wow!!! 427... thats sweet. Yea im sure there are BBC headers for 3rdgens, but there LT's and that will cost ya some ground clearance. Are ya gunna run a true dual system? I would think with that engine, you might have to. Your gunna have to fab up a some type of set up. do a search for dual exhaust on this board for some ideas... and how about some pics when the engine is in huh!!!!

just thought about it.... If your running a 427, just have the LTs come off, and put turn downs... I dont think you will be able to pass any type of emmisions anywhere with that baby. good luck

Yup, there are all the parts out there that you'll need to drop a big block in there... there are many people on this board with big blocks, mostly 468s (overbored 454) though.

I'd kill to have a 427 to drop in my car, that is by far the best engine Chevy ever built IMO. What did the 427 come out of, do you know? If its a Vette motor, its gonna be such a nasty ride

And yea, Hooker makes the headers for the swap to work, but i think you'll have to take it to a shop to have the rest of the exhaust fab'd up for you.

You should really consider a tough transmission too.. a T5 or a stock 700R4 will not be able to handle all the torque of the 427. I suggest looking for a good TH350 or a TH400.

BTW, welcome to the boards

ive heard with the bbc headers from hooker, that they are a real PITA to put in. theres a company called Lemon Headers and they mae a set of bbc headers for 3rdgens but its alot more for those then the hookers.
