Couple of cat and header questions?
Okay ive had my flowmaster 80 series on my 1989 305 tbi firebird formula but it didnt sound deep and lound so i took the cat off and put a pipe in place. So it was louder but know i have to go to emmssions so i put the cat back on but i noticed a huge noise level drop so i was wondering what are some of the best flowing yet legal cats out there and if i were to buy a high flow cat and weld it in place,of the normal garage cat would i be able to hear a difference in the deep tone would it get louder.
Other question i need to get some headers and ive done research and i heard of the car getting really bad shakes,at idle so i was wondering which headers have not been used the most for doing this or what brand you got and have they gave you troubles? Also my exhaust should sound deeper right with the headers and im going to get 1 5/8 primaries are the headers going to make a big difference like when you switched from the stock air filter intake system to a cold or open element filter difference like that basicly i mean could you tell if somebody took them off and you drove the car with out them on.:lala: :lala:
Also i want my engine to sound like the sound clip on the flowmaster web site.
THANKS

your 80 series are much quieter than the 40, you should have gone with them. Putting on a hi flow cat wont make much of a difference. If you install the 40's and a hi flo cat it should sound a lot meaner then the 80's. As for the hedders, i dont have much experience with them so i appolagize for not knowing the answer to that.

Well seein as its a knock off, i would think that it sounds the same as a 40, but also tat its a knock off it could be misleading. You get what you pay for, but also it may sound cool. Its like buying name brand prescription drugs or going to a pharmacy and getting the same drug but with a different name. Its your call, Its not too much money, although i dont know how much the real flowmaster 40 costs, so if you are savin a few bucks then it wont matter too much if it turns out to be not what you expected. I say go for it.
