dual exhaust question

i got a question...if this has come up before, sorry, i searched but came up with nothing.

this weekend, me and a buddy converted his '78 single exhaust camaro into a dual exhaust. he just bought some old pipes from a junkyard, and everything fit perfectly. i want to do the same to my car ('92 v-6) but i'm not sure if it'll work.

did any of our cars come with true dual exhaust? (guess i sound like a dumbass, but all i know about is v-6's cause that's what i have). if so, i guess they'd prob. fit onto my car (but not positive).

just wanted to find out before i drove 1/2 hour to the junkyard to find out

No thirdgen ever had 'true' dual exhaust.

so even z28's and irocs had the two exhaust pipes turning into one, and feeding into that monster muffler, and then splitting into 2 pipes? well damn, i guess i'll scrap that idea cause i'm not gonna pay to get pipes custom made...

so there's no way to make a dual exhaust w/o custom work being done? no other car's exhaust will fit in ours?
